[Developer Issue]: Need broader translation software and cheatsheets for a range of current software platforms #570

Issue details

The suggestion from the FIMS council is to create converters to facilitate transitions, including at least SS3 and SAM. We can create an issue and put it in the parking lot for now.

Note that case studies include elements that can be generalized into converters in the future (e.g. this function currently in a case-studies branch)

We need to prioritize the list of needed translators because not all models can be translated right now, e.g., there is currently no capacity to support length data in FIMS or WHAM, so a rough idea would be to write translators in the following order:
