This will use the main branch though? Where will the pp-shield definitions be stored?

These are just initial steps. We can change the default branch in future iterations/steps to be something other than main. We can and should add the pp-shield workflow here too... yes.

We still figure out how to reconcile it's structure with what is in this repository, but that can and should be done using tools here on github.

We definitely have some overdue cleanup to do, great points Dana. We should definitely clean these up before someone in the community might take a look and be confused.

Should we do the cleanup before or after we move to this repo?

No one knows this repo exists yet! I prefer- get this all on here and then start making moves.

These are all great things- lets make separate branches and merge them in so the dev history reads iteratively and clearly.
