7 years ago - The CM4 spin-up has been losing sea-level because mass is being locked up in icebergs that are stuck in single-point channels and inlets. They get stuck because winds are masked to zero on coastlines (legacy issue in coupler).
- Two commits address this issue:
- A weak offshore flow is added to ocean/ice currents next to help move bergs to where they can feel the winds.
- A stochastic component is added to ocean/ice currents to represent unresolved motions (e.g. tidal currents, swirls,...) in cells next to land (which includes single point channels).
