Improving cross section point classification algorithm #236

A backlog task I've been working on to improve the classification of cross section points, and in particular the channel points. Using the first and second derivatives to determine when the cross section profile is increasing / decreasing and in what direction, to get a good estimation of the "channel" portion of points.
