1 year ago Discussions with Ops regarding the design of this service - a 72-Hr SWE already has the same 1-day layer.
Anders Nilsson followed up on this discussion (he's part of the Winter Hydro Desk). According to Carrie O. and Shawn C, they would prefer:
- melt products derived from melt (ACSNOM) and not change in SWE,
- daily totals instead of range totals, and
- a snow temp service (SNOWT_AVG) would be bonus
Therefore, since the change in SWE is already included as a layer in the 72-HR SWE Change service, I will modify this 24-Hr Snow Melt to use the ACSNOM land variable instead and publish a test version for Ops to review. In this case, the service will NOT be directly comparable to the on-prem ana_24hr_snow_melt service.
Comparing the redeveloped UAT published version of ana_24hr_snow_melt to the on-prem shows some differences that are not uniform. Need to investigate the algorithm further.
