I'm not sure exactly how to add this information, but want to elevate for discussion nonetheless that nucleic acid extraction method (e.g. bead beating vs. phenol:chloroform) dictates the integrity of genomic DNA. This is important for sequencing-based methods, which are much more powerful on large contiguous strands of nucleic acids.
