Need cache management (cleanup) included with LAS release package #334

Just spoke with Al Hermann and he said the only significant problem he has had with his LAS is that the cache fills up. Inferences from this:

  1. An LAS installer does not necessarily realize that cache management (cleanup) is his responsibility
  2. LAS would seem more robust if cache management were part of it

My recollection of the last group conversation we had on this topic was that

  1. cache management ought to be included as a Java thread in the LAS product server
  2. TDS may include some code that we could borrow for this purpose
