New bug: Reference map isn't always consistent with interactive zooming on output plot in V7 UI

Here's a situation where the reference map on the top of the page doesn't always reflect the XY plot on in the output area:

generate full region COADS XY SST plot (for example)
select a region on the reference map
click the "+" to zoom the reference map in
On the XY output plot, select a region for interactive zooming
reference map seems to try and update, but doesn't reflect the area that was selected in the interactive plot

I've attached a screen shot of the state of the UI after the above steps.
