New UI: If a constraint is configured, can't choose views other than XY #489

Reported by @AnsleyManke on 8 Apr 2008 19:55 UTC In this test server,

http://porter.pmel.noaa.gov:8380/las/getUI.do

The dataset "Coads monthly" has a constraint configured to allow seasonal regridding. The constraint appears correctly, and I can apply it to an xy plot.

Now, whether the constraint is turned on or off, if I try to ask for any plot in another view, say xt, or a time series, the Update Plot button does not light up, and if I hit it anyway, I get a pop-up that says, "Please select an output". The same thing happens with other datasets that have constraints (hycom_glb_analysis is one, all the tripolar datasets as well...)

With the same server using the old interface, this all works fine, e.g. http://porter.pmel.noaa.gov:8380/las/servlets/constrain?var=35

Comment by @AnsleyManke on 8 Apr 2008 21:31 UTC I see in the installer documentation, at the very bottom of this page:

http://ferret.pmel.noaa.gov/LAS/documentation/installer-documentation/adding-scattered-data/configuring-user-interface-behavior

the statement "The beta release of Armstrong does not use information from the UI constraints to define Ferret symbols."

If this is a know issue related to that statement, and this is part of work which will be in a future relese, then it can be moved to some other milestone.
