The following plot is a investigation in the relationship between neutral number density at 400km and the mean molecular mass at pressure level of 130 in WAM, which at the height from about 220 to 280 km at the quite time. The two variables are daily global mean and the time trend length is for 2023 full year. The plot indicates a very clear negative correlation between the high altitude number density and mid altitude mean mass in most of time of 2023, especially during the high kp (maybe also high F107d period). note the magnitude bars (y axises) indicate the difference magnitude levels of DEN and MMS between the 3 runs (obs solar wind drivers, kp derived solar wind drivers, new kp derived solar wind drivers with high-quartile coefficients. further investigation is going on.
