We want standardised diagnostics for GCMs:

MOC strength
S.Ocean transports
Tides
This
That

Options:

Marine Assess seems unsupported (Python2.7), has MO standard diagnostics
XGCM xarray and has GCM diagnostics
COAsT is currently being developed for xarray data loading but doesn't have GCM diagnostics. MO is looking to develop

Action: Review in a few week

It would be good to have an interface between coast and xgcm, as coast does better data handlign than xgcm (but doesn't have all the nice diagnostics)
