not that I've looked into it yet - but is the breaking change with Scipy easy to fix? Maybe it's cleaner to specify >=1.11.1 with a fix, which allows us to update to later versions of Scipy as and when they become available - rather than being stuck in the past? if it's a pain - happy to fix at 1.10.1 for the time being
