Hi there,

I installed macOS Monterey using your EFI. I have changed nothing except for the SMBIOS which im using for a MBP13,1.

Everything works fine as expected except for the HDMI part. There is just no signal to the monitor. How can I resolve that?

Good morning,

I have not booted this machine up in some time. It is likely that the machine needs an updated device-properties patch to enable HDMI. I will unearth it and give it a test in the coming days. I have some free time with the holidays coming up and will look to push an updated EFI.

Sounds good, please let me know once its done. Also the machine keeps on crashing when you plug in the AC adapter or remove it.

NOTNlCE commented 1 year ago

Believe it or not, these issues are likely related. The config most likely needs the HDMI patch to resolve. I should be able to break the machine out this week to review. Thanks for your patience.

Perfect, thank you so much for the prompt response. Please respond to this thread when you do update everything. Really appreciate the work!

Good morning, I am able to reproduce the lack of HDMI output using latest 12.6.2 Monterey, but not the crashing on AC adapter. I will see if I can resolve the HDMI issue with a WhateverGreen patch, then update the repo to latest. Thank you

Sounds good, for clarification, I am running the latest 12.6.2 version of Monterey as well.

Good afternoon,

Thanks for your patience. My I ask - what BIOS revision is your machine running? I can now output via HDMI to a display at 1080p, but doing so disabled my internal LCD, despite tweaks to my iGPU device properties. This may be a firmware issue. I will be testing newer BIOS today.

Harris-Usmani commented 1 year ago

I haven't checked the BIOS revision. Let me check and update you today accordingly.

Harris-Usmani commented 1 year ago

Hi there, were you able to check a new BIOS revision?

NOTNlCE commented 1 year ago

Hello - the latest BIOS did not help my attempts to fix the HDMI output. I am afraid this may be a bit beyond my capabilities with this machine. I suspect something in macOS Monterey caused the HDMI issue, but my tweaks with Whatevergreen and OpenCore have been unable to fix it.

It is possible moving back to Big Sur could resolve the issue, but without testing, I cannot be sure. I'll likely need additional assistance to move forward with a fix.
