Hello, Sorry for my english, I have a problem on my mac. I install Valkyrie and open it with no problem. I install Mansion of madness with steam, no problem. But when i open valkyrie, the app doesn't find mansion of madness. When i try to locate it, valkyrie is cherching for mansionsofmadness.exe. but on mac i've only have mansionsofmadness.app I didn't know what to do?

Thank you for your help.

Can you upload the file ~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log? Also from the Steam Library if you right click on Mansions of Madness and go to Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files the application will be shown in the finder. Change the view to columns and what is the path to the game?

Djah09 commented 5 years ago

For the first question no i can't because i didn't find the folder unity in the folder log. For the second question here is the path:Macintosh HD⁩ ▸ ⁨Utilisateurs⁩ ▸ ⁨*** ▸ ⁨Bibliothèque⁩ ▸ ⁨Application Support⁩ ▸ ⁨Steam⁩ ▸ ⁨steamapps⁩ ▸ ⁨common⁩ ▸ ⁨Mansions of Madness⁩ but the strange things is when i want to go by myself in the finder, the folder Bibliothèque (library) is hide. Thank you for your help.

Check the following

  1. Open the Apple menu and click "About This Mac."
  2. In the Overview tab click the "_System Report…" button.
  3. In the left pane go down to the "Software" section and click on "Applications"
  4. Wait for the right pane to load (it might take a while) and then scroll through the list for "Mansions of Madness"

Was it there? If it was please screenshot the details in the pane below and post.

When i click on applications, in the right pane it's only write: "no information found"

Looks like the filenames or path have changed on Mac. Importer can't find resources.assets file in ./Contents/Resources/Data/

We need someone with a Mac to look at this one.

Hi guys, Can I manually move the content of Mansions around? The above folder "Users/../Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Mansions\ of\ Madness/Mansions\ of\ Madness.app" holds a copy of my game including a resources.assets file in the "./Contents/Resources/Data/" subfolder nonetheless I can get valkery to work..

Same applies to my Descent.app that lives in "/Users/justiniszatt/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Descent Road to Legend/Road to Legend.app/" but works flawlessly in the valkery import part.

For now I would be happy to move the stuff around and am even willing the setup stuff on my Windows system and move the files to Windows. If that might help, I am of course willing to look into details if anyone can give be a direction ;)

Cheers and thanks for keep MoM & Descent alive

Justin

@J-Iszatt If you are using the Valkyrie version 2.5.8 released here it is unable to import the latest (1.9.3) MoM version from steam.

My fix hasn't been released here (in this repo) yet but here is a build of the branch with the fix:

valkyrie-macos-2.5.9c.tar.gz

valkyrie-windows-2.5.9c.7z

valkyrie-windows-2.5.9c.exe

valkyrie-windows-2.5.9c.zip

Otherwise you have to rollback the version of the MoM app.

seinsinnes commented 1 year ago

So unless you've tried a work around for the MoM 1.9.3 app import problem, I don't think this is a MacOS vs Windows problem or a directory location problem.

J-Iszatt commented 1 year ago

Thank you so much seinsinnes, I was able to import the files from my steam install with the 2.5.9 valkyrie version you supplied!

Will the changes you made be integrated in master any time soon? I hope so and thanks for helping again I am looking forward to give the MoM content a try ;)
