[Bug] [2.4.10 installer] Popup windows act as if it clicked off the window

It happens while making a scenario

No popup windows work for me (Windows version), they show up, but when I click on an option, it acts as if it clicked off the window

While building a scenario

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Create new scenario
Click on new tile
Open tile selection
Click on a tile... but it doesn't change

I expect the tile to change to what I selected

Valkyrie Version: 2.4.10

Desktop

OS: Windows 10
Browser: Firefox
Version: Not clear on what this is referring to... but guessing: Windows 10 version 1909

I am not sure what you mean with this Issue. If your can attach a zipfile of your scenario to this ticket we might be able to reproduce and figure out what goes wrong.

One tip though: BEFORE you create a zip, please rename 'EditorScenario1' part in the path to ....\Roaming\Valkyrie\MoM\Editor\EditorScenario1 to something that relates to your scenario. You need to change that anyway if you intend to publish the scenario later

I just tried with the instructions as you descibed:

RIGHT-click on the image to select the tile, see red arrow. (or from component selection pull down menu in the top right of the screen)

Then select the title of the used tile to change the tile see Blue Arrow.

Tested on same OS version and Same Valkyrie version

It isn't just tiles that don't work... it is any popup window

Just tested renaming a tile, when I click on the text box, it closes the window

Which textbox did you use for renaming?

the one in the picture called Tile0? (the wrong box to click for renaming)
the one marked with the blue arrow? (the wrong box to click for renaming)
the box named rename <-- that is the right one

Some things to check:

are you sure you are using the latest version of Valkyrie? (when you are online you should not see an 'update available' notice on the first Splash screen).
did you in the options menu select the expansions that you actually have?
did you re-import the content.

Did you experience the issue with previous versions of Valkyrie? Is this something that's been introduced in a more recent build.

Have you tried a clean install:

Uninstall the app from add removed programs
open %appdata%\Valkyrie\MoM\Editor\ and make a copy of your scenarios, put them somewhere safe.
then drop down to the roaming profile again (or open%%appdata%), then delete the Valkyrie folder, this will clear all content.
Install Valkyrie and import content as normal. See if you can reproduce the error with a new scenario, then copy your scenario back to the editor folder (same path as above)

In most cases these two things are the problem when this stuff happens in the editor.

I just did a fresh install as described, still not working

Everything works on the Android version, so it might be a windows thing

I still cannot reproduce your problem (for as far as I understand it). Running on Windows 10 Home version 1909, + Valkyrie 2.4.10 + PC: i7 + 16GB RAM.--> No issues in windowed mode in any resolution nor in fullscreen mode in any resolution.

I am guessing your system has similar specifications as mine so that should not be the issue

@scrubbless Could it be an installer thing? I mean, I upgraded from 1.x.x with each new version of Valkyrie. Assuming that an update inherits configuration from its predecessor it may be that a clean installation of 2.4.10 may miss some paths/configuration. If this is true, installing an older version of Valkyrie may solve the problem. And, if your problem is then solved, update to the latest. (something worth trying @Rexxios )

Just go back to the previous version 2.4.9. just wondering if it's a new thing or a local machine issue.

I can't reproduce the issue on windows 10.

I know it sounds odd but do you have Citrix Receiver installed on your machine. That crashed Valkyrie for me and turned out to be a bug in Citrix. It could be you have a conflicting application on you machine.

Also check your anti virus is not throwing errors or quarantining files.

If that doesn't work can you explain the steps you are taking, with screenshots before each click (or better yet a video would be helpful, if you can)

That actually fixed the issue, awesome! I installed 2.4.9, then 2.4.10 @scrubbless

That would mean that something is wrong with the 2.4.10 installer @scrubbles if you agree, then I propose to change the title of this ticket accordingly and hope it gets fixed soon.
