I think this is possible in 1.3 and higher.

@TheNON75 do you have a speaker running? Can you share an example?

@Vinisz , what do you mean by “HomeKit 2 speaker”? At the moment I have no speakers configured with nrchkb, but I can confirm that smart speakers can be added from 1.3.0, supporting play/pause only.

Vinisz commented 3 years ago

Sorry, I mean “airplay 2” speakers.

If you're looking to add a non airplay speaker for airplay streaming: it's not related to this project and I don't think it's possible. Try shairplay or shairport (search GitHub)

Now if you want to have a speaker control in homekit for some third party - yeah we can do that.

Airplay 2 speakers for airplay based playback are appearing in the phone, they have not much to do with HomeKit. Can you describe in details, what would you like to achieve?

@Vinisz how are things going here? I'd like to hear from you so we can continue helping. If you have found some answers, let's talk about them or close this issue.

Thanks!
