[x] Appropriately rename columns
[x] replace "*" values with non-zero values (between 0 and 0.5)

@iisabeller I'm taking a look at these these manufacturing changes and I noticed that manufacturing_2.py was created with commit 26846be ... does this replace manufacturing.py? If so, I propose you delete and rename.
