I'm not following the intent of this feature request. Can you elaborate?
This would allow visualization of air loops on 3d geometry. A number of users have used the building story for this purpose instead of representing stories. This is more useful on large building with multiple wings per story each with their own air loops.
Ah yes! I thought that was it, but since there isn't currently a feature for "Render by Air/Plant loop" I wasn't 100% sure. This seems like a potentially useful feature for internal QA/QC
Here is an old Mockup I had with layout of air and plant loops alongside geometry. The outline of the air loop colors to the colors in the 3d view.
If we wanted to render by data for air loops, like we can already do by surface and zone, we don't really have to change the API, could update the measure to do that today.

still valid feature request
This would have to be transferred to the sketchup plugin repo I think, if you want to keep this alive @DavidGoldwasser. I'll let you decide.
I'm fine closing this, but there would be a model API to add a field to air and plant loops for color similar to thermal zone and space type.
Per #114 rendering color shoulf reference its object, not the other way round. So it'd be just a matter or adding another \object-list
to idd
Would be useful for render by air loop. I don't see a way to do render by plant loop, at least not on spaces (since multiple loops may apply) but it may still be good to have color on plant loops as well for non-geometric diagrams.
