gbXML translator doesn't provide option to import volume or area values from spaces #3349

It would be nice to have an option to be able to use pre-calculated volume and area values from spaces in a gbXML file for OpenStudio to use. Many gbXML authoring tools don't create perfectly enclosed shells for spaces and this results in OpenStudio fairly often applying a default value of 10m2.

I agree that this is a good feature request. I don't know where the default 10 m^2 is coming from though? I don't know of any check that OS or E+ does for fully enclosed zone geometry.
