Trying to study an external geometry file in SOWFA #74

Hi everyone. I´m currenttly learning OpenFOAM and SOWFA for a wind power prediction study. Sorry if this issue is way too silly but i do several research about the fact of using a STL geometry for the a typical ABL case. I found several papers that published studies in real geometries uisng SOWFA. However, when i try to use my geometry in the SOWFA code i had no idea how to do that. I will apreciate a lot any tutorial or explanation about this. Sorry again if this is too simple but the information i found about this is very poor.

Thanks in advance

Daniel

Hi Daniel, SOWFA-6 has working tutorials showing how to use an STL geometry to model a terrain (here). You should give SOWFA-6 a try, as it is working fairly well, even though the whole code is still in the dev branch. Note that SOWFA-6 requires OpenFOAM 6.

Let us know if you have any issues running that example case.

Dear Regis, Is there any installation instructions for this SOWFA 6. The information that i found for the SOWFA 2.4.0 is still valid? In the Readme file on the SOWFA-6 repository is declared that OpenFOAM 2.4 is required.

Thanks again

Daniel
