Incorporating EPRI load info #7

Recently found EPRI report ("Assessment of Industrial-Sector Load Shapes" [1992]) contains electrical load factor and load shape data for 38 2- to 4-digit SIC codes. How can these data be used to improve the estimation of heat load shapes?

Proposed approach is to:

  1. Map SIC to 2012 NAICS
  2. Assume electric load factor is equivalent to heat load factor and apply by industry.
  3. Use minimum and maximum load from each curve and apply to non-operating and operating hours (estimated by shift scheduling calculations), using interpolation to fill in ramp-up/ramp-down periods.
