My understanding is that if I put generic yields there and the region has a demand for that commodity then the model will start trying to produce that commodity locally instead of just maintaining imports. I don't think this makes sense because factors like climate we are not modeling should prevent local growth. For example, rice in CAN.
I will double check these though to make sure that this is the issue in all instances of zero yield.
I see how this makes sense. We'll have to document this somewhere.
