Debugging request

So, these changes are what I had to make in order to go through the rake tasks below,

• format_data['bdgp']
• generate_xmls
• add_measured_data
• simulate_batch_xml

will be adding more specific comments in each changes. I wish these could be merged (or handled) to your testing so that whenever I jump in for another round of testing, I don't have to change things on my end again. I'll be testing calibration rake task probably tomorrow.
