Usability improvement requests

As our engineers use this tool more, they have sent through these improvement requests:

• Confirmation dialogues when deleting floors or spaces (It’s too easy to do currently).
• An ‘Orientation’ assignment for spaces, used to create unique and recognizable names for thermal zones.
• Window assignments aren’t carried through beyond FloorSpace, window geometries are retained, but their names are lost. This means each window has to be manually reassigned in SketchUp, so that glazing properties can be assigned.

Please review and see if they are appropriate to make your usability improvement list. Thanks

I'm of two minds regarding confirmation on delete - at least for spaces. Sometimes I want to plow through a lot of deletions, and confirmations would be onerous. If this feature were to be added, I would want a preference setting for confirmations.

You should be able to undo deletion of floors/spaces, I tend to feel like that is sufficient?

Undo should be sufficient, yes. The context for this was that one of our engineers, when first learning the software, accidentally deleted a floor (see image). For whatever reason he couldn’t undo the change. Perhaps the real issue is not being able to undo in some situations, and if so the deletion of those elements should prompt a confirmation.

If you come across a situation where undo is not available or does not work as intended, please tell us the steps to reproduce to fix it. I did some quick testing and found I was able to undo the deletion of a story, but there very well might be a bug in some situations.

I will open a separate ticket on the delete button issue, that should be improved.
