Add a measure called gbxml_postprocess (or similar) that includes the following, which basically combines the measures below.
[x] the code in gbxml_to_openstudio_cleanup
[x] the code in add_xml_output_control_style as a Model Measure (currently an EnergyPlus Measure) since all the classes have been wrapped by OpenStudio >=3.5.0 now.
