Atonement allows you to heal targets by dealing damage with Smite and Holy Fire. To the lowest health raid member, within 15 yards of the target you are damaging, will be healed for the amount of damage that you dealt with Smite and Holy Fire. If you yourself are benefiting from the heal, its effects are reduced by 50%.
Use Holy Fire on cooldown and spam Smite on the target. You will quickly get a feel for the amount of healing you can expect, and whether or not it is sufficient to heal the tank or the raid.
Note that, while spamming Smite, your mana will go down (very slowly).
If the period of low damage, during which you were Smiting, is followed by a period of high damage, which requires a lot of healing, you should use Archangel to gain a 15% healing increase (keep in mind that Archangel will consume the stacks of Evangelism that you had been building and/or maintaining).
Atonement healing is especially useful during times when the boss or another mob takes increased damage. This will cause you to generate very high heals on the nearby players, while also contributing to the raid's DPS.
@virpyre I know that thing the thing is sometimes when you Smite the Atonement not happen on partymember. and as I said sometimes it does the aura(effect) of Atonement but not to lowest health member.
as explained my tank had 98-100% and 2 partymembers with 50% and it prefered the Tank.
I tested Atonement various times start with Holyfire, then spam Smite until x5 Evangelism, then back to Smite.
The first hit of Holyfire is 11k, tick after is 510, 9 ticks of 340. The first hit of Atonement 12k, tick after is 718, 9 ticks of 450.
The first hit of Smite 8k. The first hit of Atonement 9k. The second hit of Smite 13k. The second hit of Atonement 14k. The third hit of Smite 8.5k. The third hit of Atonement 9.2k.
@virpyre the report is not about the Holyfire / Smite damage and not about Evangelism. the report is about Atonement which is aura(effect) that you get from Smiting.
The Heal/effect/aura however you wanna call it does not work as intend.
Atonement attaches itself to the person that is 15 yards from the centre of the bosses hitbox, cannot be targeted and will 90% of the time always be the tank.
@virpyre I read the range of the ability (15yard) even wrote on 1# message, btw 1 player was hunter 1 was warrior I have that vod.
Here is proof : https://imgur.com/a/A6bL2ZX
Holy Shock - 11.462 nobody took the atonement from Holy Shock actually I think it was used on Cycloned player over other player. I'm not sure if it should priority player w/o aura over player /w aura (cyclone).
I also sure sometimes the Atonement doesn't apply from some reasons.
Ok I'm too lazy to remove older messages.
There is bug with Atonement and the bug is with COMBAT REACH
Blizzard gave Atonement maximum reach of 100yard (depend on boss/target) which means if there is boss/target with 50y combat reach you have 65y reach of Atonement 50y+15y = 65y.
Atm what I saw the yard is like 0+15 = 15y
Good luck on fixing ;)

Description: When you Smite you should heal via talent called Atonement to 100% of the damage of Smite or 50% If self-heal. - http://cata-shoot.tauri.hu/?spell=81749 (Rank 2)
Current behaviour: Sometimes the Atonement is not reaching the players ,15 range. as talent info says(?) even if they stand nearby.
Other thing about Atonement is sometimes it keeps heal a player with 100% HP over player with lesser HP. I'm not sure if Atonement should priortize a lower HP upon higher HP. I think it does like Healing Chain suppost.
According to another pserver it heal randomly target that aren't full HP. You cannot control or choose which player will be the next healed by Atonement.
If the target is fully HP it does overhealing. (which works here) If Smite crit Atonement apply Divine Aegis. (which works here)
The situation I had is that 2 players were on 50% hp and it kept to heal Tank who had 100-99% hp. Other situation is my Smite did 5557 damage no one recieved Atonement of 5557 (saw with Mik Scroll addon)
Expected behaviour: TBH not sure.
