@charlesyoung @jedm Hi! Do you have a vector file of the logos in the footer? The vector logos could be in .svg, .eps, .ai format. Currently they are in .png format so the quality isn't the best. Thanks! image

@nirvanalama I only have .png file formats. Can you get the required formats from the relevant websites? @manishgs might have different formats because he worked on the initial logos.

@charlesyoung @jedm We have deployed the new page design in the staging server. Since its in the developing stage, we might have some inconsistent data and design. For now, this is for testing and getting feedback. We will work on it further

Hi @man-git007 and everyone, a few questions to supplement @charlesyoung:

In general this page is better for IA than the current pages but I am a little concerned that it is "too utilitarian." (Happy to be overrruled!)

@jedm We have updated the site in the staging server. We still have some minor design issues. We will be working on them. Please review the site and provide us the feedback.

I think that the box sizes are still out of proportion. Below is what I see at 90% zoom without scrolling down. I don't even see the entire boxes.

Couple points

  1. Reduce the size of the boxes
  2. Move the 'A Directory of Petroleum and Mining Contracts' text slightly higher
  3. I know its just a test site but can you change the 'Search and review land and agriculture contracts to understand the key terms and the implications of large-scale deals' text to 'Search and review petroleum and mining contracts to understand the key terms and provisions'
  4. Remove the text 'Photos, home page: View from Entoto Mountain, Ehtiopia (Arne Hoel/World Bank Photo Collection) Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée, Sangarédi, Guinée (RWI); Oil rig worker, Niger Delta, Nigeria (Ed Kashi)'
  5. The background photo doesn't work, we should either totally remove the transparency or make it stand out more. It looks to washed out.

@man-git007 and @charlesyoung,

CCSI has some recommendations about the new design too.

Before YI does more tweaks, could we submit group feedback and then ask YI to do a round of new suggestions after? Sam and I discussed that possibility with @anjesh a few days ago.

For OLC, we like the opaque color gradient, though we might request more opacity once we see an OLC mock-up.

@man-git007, final comments from me: I suggest the following changes to the text of the 3 boxes:

Current: [icon] [#] black, non-bold [text, eg "Search Documents"] smaller, non-bold

Change to: [#] site color - eg, orange for RC, bold [text, eg "Search Documents"] 1-2 pt sizes bigger, bold

Would leave the hover-style for boxes the same.

Hello. Here are the changes:

  1. The boxes has been made smaller.
  2. The text "Search Documents" Bold and 1pt bigger.
  3. We wouldn't recommend the text to be orange as the text wouldn't be legible on smaller screens.

@charlesyoung @jedm @SamCCSI We will implement the changes which are also in the above two images. The changes are as per YI understanding are:

  1. Reduce the size of the boxes
  2. Move the 'A Directory of Petroleum and Mining Contracts' text slightly higher
  3. The background would be transparent.
  4. The text "Search Documents" Bold and 1pt bigger.
  5. Relating to RC
    • Remove ‘Guides’ on the top right
    • Change the 'Search and review land.....of large-scale deals' text to 'Search and review petroleum ........ provisions'
    • Remove the text 'Photos, home page: View from Entoto Mountain........Nigeria (Ed Kashi)' from the footer of the site

If anything missing please inform us.

@man-git007 note that this one is also only for RC for now:

  1. The background would be transparent.

For OLC, we're still interested in seeing what it looks like with different % of gradient/opacity layer.

Also, @nirvanalama will it be possible to see the OLC version posted at https://staging.openlandcontracts.org/ now that that site is up and running? The version right now is full opacity with no background image.

@jedm @SamCCSI @charlesyoung We are not clear on what to do with the OLC Designs. This is the current design we have. There is a blue gradient overlay on the top. Do we implement the design same as RC. As it would make more sense to have the same designs for both RC & OLC, we had earlier used the color "green" for RC and "blue" for OLC. image

thanks @nirvanalama and @man-git007 . I think there will be a more general discussion about home page design soon, so I wont offer too many comments. But one thing I would like to see is for the opaque color layer to be a gradient from one color to another, as you did from RC. I defer to you on the choice of the two colors, but please make it work with the underlying image.

Once that is done, could you also please reduce the opacity, so that the color overlay is weaker than right now? Many thanks. cc @charlesyoung @jedm

Hello! Here is the new design for OLC. If we decrease the opacity any lower, the text below "Learn how to get started" will not be legible. image
