Factor Management

• You did a good job on factorising, including many variables of the dataset and give some analysis wit the factorial variables. And it will be better if you compare as.factor and as_factor in your process.
• You also did a great job on reordering and dropping levels, writing and reading files. In addition to drop levels with function droplevels(), I think you can also try forcats::fct_drop().

Visualization Design

• You did a good job on design visualizing. You tried to combine dplyr functions with ggplot2 and show a good understanding of these two packages.
• However, I think you can do more about visualization design with the note given @vincenzocoia. It really shows us some good examples.

But I want to do more

• Nice job! You really give me a good instruction of the use of fct_recode.

One more thing

I'm really interested in why your embedding doesn't work.

Overall, it's a check plus work!!

Starting from the main category, I could tell you did clean up your repository. It is very nice to make data and plots folders in every homework folder. One thing I can suggest is also including links to every homework and their content in a menu so that you can approach them in the future (as your personal cheat sheet). Also, you removed all downstream stuff to keep your repository simple.

Here are more comments for hw5: You explained what you will do on sentence. It was kind of you to help me follow the process very well. I did not find any problems in your coding. However, I noticed you did not figure out the differences between reorder and arrange. For visualization design, I really like the way you adding theme_bw() which makes the plots defined clearly, while it's better to practice changing colors or labels in your plots. In last part, I learned how to use fct_recode from your report!

Hi @NSKrstic, here are some comments about your hw05:

• Nice work for the first part of the assignment! Great comparison of forcats for converting variables to factors! Although you mention the issue with NAs as advantage of base as.factor over forcats, as_factor, you still use as_factor anyways. What advantages does forcats have over base? You were also able to successfully drop 0 as a factor.
• File I/O was well done. Good explanations of the differences between write/read_csv and save/readRDS
• Factor reordering was done well. You did a good job of showing the effects of factor reordering and arrange on plots.
• For visualization design, it would have been nice if you tried to incorporate a few more elements from the visualization design lecture into your plot such as a new color palette
• Nice job overall, your assignment hit all of the elements and you provided good explanations for each part. In addition, you completed the extra activity as well. Your coding style generally readable and efficient. Your repo is clean and easy to navigate. Nice work in STAT 545A!
