Port old examples into sphinx_gallery

• Retire some examples that were serving as stop-gaps, now better served by the bluesky documentation.
• Update some of my old examples and @tacaswell's APS demo examples to use sphinx_gallery.
• Fiddle with the sphinx_gallery configuration to make the public URLs prettier.
