Can be a .yaml or .json file stored in a separate, private repository, so that this repository can be made public again.

For now, the notifications are enabled via the https://nsls-ii-monitoring.slack.com Slack workspace. I'll close this issue for now. Reopen, if the email notifications functionality is still needed/preferred.
