Thanks @ordirules! We are using this repo as an issue tracker, so that we can comment on progress and mark issues with labels and milestones. I would happy to transcribe the contents of this text document into GitHub issues.
Also, just out of curiosity, how did you find us? Are you still at McGill, per your GitHub profile? Apologies if I'm just out of the loop on this one. :- )
No worries. I'm at Brookhaven in CFN now. I'll update my github profile (still kind of new to this). Sorry, I didn't understand what the format should have been, I received the link from Andrei and assumed it was meant to be a general list. I can also try to re-write my cumbersome post into something more manageable for you so you don't have to waste time :-).
Oh, great! Andrei mentioned you but I didn't make the connection. Looking forward to meeting you. On Wed, Aug 5, 2015 at 7:15 PM Julien Lhermitte notifications@github.com wrote:

Ah nice, have you been at BNL long? Were you in Leheny's group? I think I remember Mohamed mentioning something. Yeah looking forward to meeting you too :-)
Anyway, I'm wondering if I should post here. I think what I may be requesting is CHX specific and this seems to be for NSLSII. Also, I think you're probably already doing most of this (from what Andrei told me at least) so I think it might not be necessary to post. Here is the list, in title, description format. Let me know if these are okay to post on the nsls-ii wishlist and I'll add them (to the proper bug report section this time! :-|)
see you!

iagram on motor movement directions (@CHX)
We'd like a diagram accompanying motor positions showing which direction a motor moves with respect to the storage ring, as well as the directions of the detector axis when viewed with ophyd. For example, the beamstop motor motions were inverted with respect to the detector. Moving beamstop positive x moved beamstop shadow negative x etc.
Mask creation and loading tool (@CHX)
Simple tool to create polygons, circles, ellipses, squares with a simple click and use these to select regions to include or exclude for a mask.
Circular average (@CHX)
Tool to calculate an instantaneous circular average. (Good for isotropic low signal data)
Contrast Measurement (@CHX)
Method to compute contrast instantaneously from the statistics of the scattered photons of isotropic data. Good for putting in a glass or other static sample to instantaneously see what the contrast is. We might play around with the optics in the future so this would be useful (this one should get Andrei’s input and approval because he’s more of an expert). Formula 11 here: http://scripts.iucr.org/cgi-bin/paper?gb5023
Play back time series (@CHX)
Method to play back time series of last data taken (without having to open ALBUS for EIGER data).
Yes, Bob let me graduate in December and I started here in January.
This is a fine place to post these things. We are trying to be more transparent and more systematic about how we prioritize the many things we would like to work on. We can dispatch issues to individual repos as needed. For problems with existing software, see also https://github.com/NSLS-II/Bug-Reports/issues.
Sent an email to avoid flooding this message board with comments :-)
Please let me know if you would like me to be more specific etc. Sorry for the poor organization but I hope it helps. Will update if more ideas come through.
