Sorry for the delay. I though I had answered this but apparently not. This is a very interesting idea and something I will gladly implement as it shouldn't bee to hard though it might take some time until I get to it. Thanks for the suggestion!
The NSPanel's temperature sensor is quite noisy and picks up temperature increases from the active display.
However, these issues can probably be tackled:
With all these issues reduced or resolved, the NSPanel could be used for a stand-alone floor-heating/HVAC control.
I propose that the NSPanel could switch one relay on or off with a hysteresis around a temperature setpoint. So a floor-heating is controlled by the temperature, independently from WiFi/HomeAssistant Server/other control systems.
I could imagine, that the following values could be set from Home Assistant:
Once set, the NSPanel could function as a stand-alone unit (probably not as reliable as other units on the market), but probably one of the cheapest solutions which I would trust to leave the flat for a few days without worrying + internet-controlled heating without costly premium brand solutions with an additional bride like BOSCH..etc.
