cant enter DFU mode (aftermarket remote?) #145

bought a remote off amazon for my ATV 3,1 im worried thats the reason I cant get it into DFU mode? Well it seems like its in dfu mode honestly the light is flashing quickly within 3 seconds of plugging it in but system still is instructing me to "enter dfu mode" by pushing down and menu. any thoughts? running big sur 11.7.5 on a late 2013 macbook pro 4gb ram 1600mhz ddr3 intel iris 1536

It might be the remote. I tried using my tv remote that my apple tv "learned" and it refuses to enter recovery mode, but when using the original remote it does work. I also struggled a little but flashing within three seconds is not the quick flashing they are looking for, in my ATV 3 the quick flash is so fast it almost seems like it's not going off; speed is similar to strobe lights flash. Also, notice there's a second instruction after holding menu + down, it's holding menu + play/pause, which must be done relatively fast before the process restarts. Hope it helps.
