Zone temperature far below set point for SFH and MFH #11

The zone temperature drops below 20 degrees for multiple hours during the year in the SFH and MFH, despite that the heating setpoint is set to 22,22 C. This does not occur for the RT. See zone temperature for SFH in Germany below. Need to investigate why it happens and fix.

Some thoughts: Is there a heating power maximum cap and is it maybe being exceeded? Is there some schedule?

I had a look and indeed, for cold climates like Fairbanks, Alaska (climate 8 in the US), we get "zone mean air temperatures" quite low, below 15 degrees.

However, I also had a look at the idf files that Sahin has created, in which he substituted our overly complex HVAC system with Ideal Loads system. It seems that this issue is gone! I checked using SFH archetype, standard, USA, climate region 8. image

Good job @shnkn, it seems like you killed two birds with one stone  I think we can close this issue.

Awesome! 😎

I am all for pragmatically solving issues 😋
But any ideas how the issue disappeared?

I don't really know, haven't looked into details. Any idea @shnkn?

@kamilitsa I do not have any idea as well, I am assuming that Ideal Loads HVAC components try to heat or cool the building according to the given setpoints. No matter how much energy required for these operations, it is provided from the district heating and cooling accordingly.

I have never worked with HVAC components other than Ideal Loads before, so I would anticipate this kind of result normally. Maybe before, the complex HVAC could not provide that much energy inherently to heat the building in some specific cold months, but I am still not sure.

Shall we try this one with some other climate zone or archetype?
