Did manage to get them working. Any ideas?

NTT123 commented 6 years ago

I didn't look into this problem.

Got them all working using the mXCHD.kext, found it here https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/forums/topic/314799-guide-z820-el-capitan-the-great-guide-sucess/?do=findComment&comment=2594048

Not working!!!

Nosskirneh commented 6 years ago

I got them working with GenericUSBXHCI.kext for both Sierra and High Sierra. https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-generic-usb3/downloads/

NTT123 commented 6 years ago

I confirmed that it's working now. Thank you!

Amitcolorist commented 6 years ago

@NTT123 I try to install GenericUSBXHCI.kext with KextBeast in Library/Extensions but usb 3.0 ports still not working.

ZanMarolt commented 6 years ago

Getting kernel panics on restart/shutdown if I have anything plugged into any of 3.0 ports. Which exact version did you guys use? @Nosskirneh @NTT123

Nosskirneh commented 6 years ago

@ZanMarolt I don’t think it’s related to a specific version, but rather something else. Have you patched the DSDT?

ZanMarolt commented 6 years ago

@Nosskirneh Nope, haven't patched DSDT, should I? If so can you be specific on what to patch? So i don't unnecessarily apply wrong/ unnecessary patches. Thanks!

Nosskirneh commented 6 years ago

Could be related to that, but I’m not an expert at hackintoshing.

I followed this guide mostly (ochja).

Thank you for sharing that. But it seems that still not working with 10.13.6 of mine. After adding GenericUSBXHCI.kext, my USB3.0 port device can be mounted, but failed to read or write things with the error code -36.
