Investigate consequences of sharing folders with Google Drive #170

Another issue we’ve had is with sharing StoryMaps between Gdrive users. After sharing the StoryMap-folder, the script creating the embed-links seems to sometimes stop working, creating a link with /embed/?url=undefined. What’s more, this apparently also broke the previously generated, functioning link created for the same StoryMap, which now gives a COR-error similar to the first case I’ve described along with a white screen: http://bit.ly/1CDqwBE.

After further discussion this "sharing" refers to using Google Drive sharing. We should do some testing to see if using Google Drive sharing impacts the generated embed code or the ability to view a StoryMap using the CDN embed page after the folder containing it was google-drive-shared.

I tried editing and republishing from both the account that is sharing a storymap and the account that a storymap is shared with in both Chrome and Safari. I can't recreate this error.

I can only guess that there is some particular sequence of events leads to this problem, or there is something particular about one of the accounts of the people reporting the error. But I don't know what either of those things might be.

Since we can't reproduce this and it hasn't come up again, I'm going to close this.
