HTC Droid Incredible support: controls and performance #89

I have been playing around with Kwaak 3 for a couple of days now and absolutely
love it; it actually works on my phone unlike a Quake 2 port I tried. Extra
control options are of course more than welcome, and I'd be willing to help
with testing. I have huge performance issues with the tutorial level,
especially after first spawning with the shotgun in front of you. Turning away
from the shotgun greatly improves the framerate. I'm not sure if that's due to
the rather unimpressive Adreno GPU or if this is a common problem. Most other
levels run at acceptable framerates.

I am running the stock Verizon Android 2.1 ROM.

The first map is quite slow. The other ones are a lot faster. There is a new
test build (1.1.e) online which adds an initial joypad which should make the
game more playable.

Try latest 1.1f test build which has a much improved joypad.

I just tried the new build and the on-screen joysticks are nice. However, the
mouse look stick is difficult to use because my character stops turning when my
finger goes beyond the green joystick border. It would be easier to control if
mouse look behaved more like it did in build 1.1e while keeping the new right
stick. It's much easier to use than the old one.

I'm glad to see you haven't given up on this :)

I will look into this, but I really thought I kept moving if I exited the
borders... BTW also try adjusting the mouse sensitivity in the game options.

I tested again and movement outside of the border definitely stops turning.
Adjusting the sensitivity only had an effect when my finger was within the
border.
