Enhancement: 22Q2 Square Footage for Five Non-residential Types

Goal: Create four five new columns in the DevDB for non-residential types to record the square footage for each categories.

The four five categories are:

• Residential

• Commercial

• Community facility

• Manfacturing

• Parking spaces

Question:

Information not available through current Open Data for BIS. Where are this information for the DOB NOW jobs?

Answer from Housing & ED

This would exists as four fields populated entirely with manual research from the two teams.

Tasks to do:

• come up with appropriate field names for the new columns for each category Residential ,Commercial, Community facility, Manfacturing, Parking spaces
• design process to ingest the manual input from research team to populate those fields the decision has updated to simply include this research in existing manual corrections sheet

check PLUTO for this but likely (i.e. zsfres, zsf'etc’.)

Per Pluto Data Dictionary here:

• Residential = ResArea
• Commercial = ComArea and/or OfficeArea and/or RetailArea
• Community facility = N/A, I don't see this represented anywhere in PLUTO unless it would be OtherArea
• Manufacturing = FactryArea and/or StrgArea (?)
• Parking Spaces = GarageArea, In pluto this represented as sqft but Parking spaces would suggest you would have the total number of parking spaces (?)

Based on conversations with Sam and the addition of the new DOB Now data with the additional columns, this issue needs to be updated. the dob now data we receive will have these additional columns:

• Enlargement SQ Footage
• Proposed ZSF = Total proposed zoning Square footage (sum of manufacturing, commercial, residential, comm fac)
• Total FAR
• No of Parking Spaces
• UseLabel
• District
• Total Floor Area
• Floor Area Ratio (FAR)
• Use - related to the uselable, 1 = commercial, 2 = residential, 3 = manufacturing, 4 = community facility

These new columns need to be properly ingested into devdb and then transformed into the columns Sam requested:

• ZSF_R_prop (Proposed Residential Zoning Square footage). UseLabel == "Residential" and "Total Floor Area"
• ZSF_C_prop (Proposed Commercial Zoning Square footage). UseLabel == "Commercial" and "Total Floor Area"
• ZSF_CF_prop (Proposed Community Facility Zoning Square footage). UseLabel == "Community Facility" and "Total Floor Area"
• ZSF_M_prop (proposed manufacturing zoning square footage). UseLabel == "Manufacturing" and "Total Floor Area"
• Prkng_prop (proposed number of parking spaces) = No of Parking spaces

These new columns will be added to the final_devdb table and any intermediary table that builds the final output.
