How do we make signing up for notifications a clear and easy process?

Our current plan is first to have users sign up for notifications by accessing a page connect to ZAP. Potentially, users could also access a sign up portion on the NYC DCP website, which would link to the sign up portion on ZAP.

As a member of the public, what are my option if I would like to subscribe by CD?

This user group should have the option to subscribe up to 59 Community Districts. (this brings to question if a user subs up to 59 option would they be defaulted to city wide?)

As a general public member, where do I find more information about CDs?

A possible solution is to link to ZOLA for users to find more information about what CDs they live in.

Based on my understanding, we're treating "citywide" as mutually exclusive from projects associated with one more CDs. Projects such as this citywide one are associated with no CDs, not all CDs. With that in mind, I think it would be confusing to sign up users for citywide when they check all 59 CDs.

Tasks a user would complete:

  1. go to zap.planning.nyc.gov
  2. click a button that navigates them to the subscription page
  3. input email address
  4. choose between signing up for community district or city wide
  5. select which community districts to sign updates for
  6. check which community district a zip code is located in
  7. submit subscription request
