[Talk Proposal] Demystifying RBS and Rails #89

Open clinejj opened 2 years ago

clinejj commented 2 years ago

Abstract: Since the release of RBS types with Ruby 3.0, many a post has been written about how to incorporate them into your project. These are helpful for getting up to speed on RBS and types in Ruby generally, but don't often cover adding them to a real world Rails application. I'll go through the experience we had adding RBS types to the app running ShelfLife and the libraries that help facilitate this (including rbs_rails and gem_rbs_collection).

Bio: John Cline is the co-founder and CTO of ShelfLife based in NYC. Prior to joining ShelfLife in 2020, he led engineering teams at various companies including Google, Blue Apron, and eBay. Before joining tech, he worked in government for Homeland Security and served in the United States Air Force. John also created a mentorship program with Mouse.org for CUNY students to help prepare them for their first internships and jobs in tech.
