I've added a new mapping sheet for materialType > Discovery resource type at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RtDxIpzcCrVqJqUjmMGkn8n2hX3BZVN9QvbB1HRgx1c/edit#gid=1379997611
Nothing much has changed from the older mapping except for being easier to read and the addition of a mapping for 'teacher set' (8). Ebooks and web resources will most often map to txt, but I included an option mapping for those and a couple others if we want to be more precise. (Basically, map the LDR/06 instead for these.
All LDR/06 values I've seen so far for partner data is 'a' (text) , so I think we can safely map their data as-is without doing a complete audit.
We will note that something is an ebook or web resource in another field, so it's okay to use the LDR/06 value for these (or default to txt).

Resource type draws from LDR/06 (in sierra: fixedFields.label = "Material type"). Because NYPL has added many custom types to the standard list, and partners may have also, we need to normalize this data to only standard values (http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/resourceTypes.html).
There are also discrepancies in our data between the LDR/06 and the sierra convenience field that supposedly draws from LDR/06, particularly for ebooks. We need to clarify the source of this data and local practice, so we can assign appropriate values.
