Documentation should make it clear if an expired HIT can be extended
Psiturk documentation says that hit extend will
Extend an existing HIT by increasing the amount of time before the HIT expires (and and is no longer available to workers) or by increasing the number of workers who can complete the HIT.
This doesn't say whether a HIT that has already expired can be extended. By contrast, the AWS documentation says that this is supported:
If the HIT has already expired, the new expiration date is the current time plus the amount of time specified.
