My main project this year (https://github.com/NaNoGenMo/2016/issues/9) is on the ambitious side and time's running out, so just in case it's not ready at the end of the month I've branched off a side project.

I (fictionally) made a (fictional) website where (fictional) people (fictionally) filled in a (fictional) personality questionnaire and received (fictional) fortunes. Unfortunately my (fictional) website was (fictionally) hacked, and the (fictional) hackers (fictionally) dumped all the users' data on the (fictional) World Wide Web! What a (fictional) disaster!

I've added a lot of phrases manually adapted from tarot_interpretation.json file in corpora, and I think it's greatly improved the variety of fortune sentences generated. Unrelatedly, one of the generated users in the new text (The Rt Rev Svein Romero, see above) had a wonderful coincidence with the fortune generator.

Before each decision about which sentences to include in a fortune, how many children to generate, how many to write about, and each generated sentence, Python's random number generator is reseeded with one of the answers from the user's questionnaire. When the last answer is used, it loops back to the beginning.

Svein Romero had three children. The first two of her fortune-told descendants reseeded the RNG enough times to give the same RNG state to the third and fourth fortune-told descendants. In the end, 15 of her descendants had their fortunes told, but each of them had one of only two distinct fortunes (except the first child, who had one extra sentence at the start, that was dropped by the rest). All of her descendants either adopted or had 3 children each.

I put limits on how many descendants in each generation can have their fortune told (making 15 the maximum total), but I think I can conclude that barring a hypothetical user whose descendants all have 20 children each, the Rt Rev Svein Romero will eventually have a familial hegemony over the whole of this fictional world. And the galaxy, since half of them each have a chance to invent FTL travel.
