The Longest Corridor #18

Open LuRsT opened 5 years ago

LuRsT commented 5 years ago

The idea is to have a dungeon which is a very long corridor, full of creatures, items, magic things and others.

Adventurers will go down the corridor, looking to find the magical item in the end of it. Each chapter will be one adventurer going down the corridor, fighting monsters until eventually perishes or reaches the end, where the book ends.

Fights will be done using D&D 5ed rules, the items a character carries will also stay in the dungeon for the next adventurer to collect and use.

Very cool! Maybe the items could evolve / get renamed due to interactions with previous adventurers?

LuRsT commented 5 years ago

Thanks @cantino, that's an awesome idea, items should change, and they could acquire names like "slayer of trolls" and such, they could get better or worse depending on how they are used on the particular run

shakna-israel commented 5 years ago

I can see it now: "J'onn killed the troll, using his Sword Stolen From Ancient Skeleton!"

Preview

Got a preview working of kind of the very very fleshed out book, the characters have a fixed name, I have given a very strong weapon to the characters, so they finish in one go, and the corridor consists of 5 orcs and the item in the end. At least now I have the structure done, now to golden plate all the things.

For years the corridor remained unexplored, until it was found out, that it held the precious 'handbasket of steel', from them on, countless adventurers ventured into the depths of the corridor, looking for fame and fortune.
The corridor was created by a God who laid out some creatures

I finished it @hugovk! I'm not entirely happy about the result, tons of repetitions, but I just want to publish this once and for all. I can work on other ideas and keep improving my book making skills with them. Expect me here next year :tada:

Here is the final release: https://github.com/LuRsT/the_longest_corridor/releases/tag/v1.0
