One of my favourite short novels is the Dostoyevsky work 'The Gambler'. I am going to try to write a procedurally generated novella that feels like reading a work of Dostoyevsky. The approach would be -- run some kind of program similar to the Sims -- with different characters each with various emotional and physical needs, except modelled after the characters in The Gambler. Run this simulation and see what happens. Then have a way of translating the results of the simulations into text that has the same literary feel as translated Dostoyevsky.
