Dear Kilian Eller,

I want to try to copy your approach on the DIY bluetooth scale. I want to combine with brew by weight by tatemazer

When starting I quickly realised the 500g weighcells (1 is available but your model requires 2) are not available for me at the moment and it seems it is unkown when they will restock therfore I want to adjust the 3D Models to fit the 1kg cells that are way cheaper as well.

Unfortunately it seems your commenting function on the website is broken as well. Because this is not a really code related issue I wanted to post there but my comments to not appear on the website.

Since your project aged a little I also wondered if you would recommend building a diy scale and if you made any adjustments that maybe are not documented?

Kind regards, Felix

Hi thanks for the comment - i'll rarely update my website but will look into it.

Depending on your use case 1 kg weightcellt might have a too high error percentage.

If i would built it nowadays i would update a lot of things because i had various issues.

So i would probably use this only as a start point to have an idea what's needed and start from scratch by first building a rudimentary board with a load cell and test around how to fix creeping issues and get reliable readings. You also have to watch out that readings can be off when you place and object on the corner of your top plate because the very sensitive weight cells could bind in a certain direction.

Btw you should be able to download the 3d model from the source code https://github.com/Nailik/DIY-Scale/tree/master/3d%20Model
