selection slider wont select a narrow tall area to observe

Describe the feature

you can currently select a long strip say 100 wide by 10 tall, but you can't do a 10 wide by 100 tall

Describe the usage

trying to monitor a fishing window with a gauge that bounces from top to bottom, its a narrow and very tall window
