Log-Scales for Values < 1 show no tick marks

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a data set with values ranging for example in 10^(-5) to 10^(-1).
2. Plot setting axis to use a log-scale.
3. No tick marks or grid lines are created.
4. Changing the minimum number of tick marks has no effect. 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected to see a line at every power of 10, but see no tick marks. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Core-Plot 1.1 on Macosx Mountain Lion (10.8.3)
