What's the problem?
@jspenguin2017 do you can create a rule to auto-click button "Proceed to video"
Hum, yea, this might be a bit more than non-intrusive self-promotion
.
@okiehsch What's your opinion on this?
Well, it is your decision and create a rule to auto-click button "Proceed to video"
can't be fixed in uBO-filters
anyway.
My personal take on the issue is that this is self advertisement and the answer to the question:
Is it an "annoyance"?
, is highly subjective.
I know it can't be fixed in uBO-filters for now, but if the demand is high, we can implement privileged filters in uBO too. I know it is really subjective, but what is your opinion?
Sorry, yeah I forgot that rather important part.
I am not easily annoyed, so I would say no, but I am not the one who counts. What I would like to know is how would you fix such an issue? Basically every cyberlocker has something similar, how would you know if the user is a premium member of the site or not? For example:
http://www.mexashare.com/ne3krhh3mq25/I.Was.Prey.S02E01.Vacation.Nightmare.720p.WEB.x264-CAFFEiNE.mkv
So you would autoclick what? The free option or the premium option, depending on ?
We can create another filter for these Account Annoyance
, it would click on free one. But yea, I'm hesitation about whether a specific filter list would be worth it.
anyone who has an account on thevideo.website, mexashare.com can buy premium and an intermediate screen with any ads is not needed
the lack of blocking these elements is what all adblockers are currently missing and I think that nano adblocker is able to fill up the emptiness
in my internal filter list it filters such things, so I think creating a separate list would be ok
Yea, I'll definitely do something about this. These pages are pretty much ads about their premium services. We do allow non-intrusive self-promotion, but this is nowhere close to non-intrusive.
I don't want to create a new filter list just for 2 websites, if you found more issues of this kind, report it here so we have content to add to the new filter list.
https://rapidgator.net
https://k2s.cc
http://nitroflare.com
https://uploadgig.com
https://turbobit.net
https://katfile.com
https://www.file-upload.com
https://www.inclouddrive.com
and many more if you search for more obscure file hosters.
Hum... I would certainly add fixes for video sites. But for file hosts, you really only need to download a file once, and I don't think you would need to download files often. So I'm still thinking whether it is worth to fix them too.
Unlike cookie walls, websites like these tend to repel, so the maintenance cost might be pretty high.
If you exclude all file hosters there will not be many sites with this issue in my opinion. You have to consider if you want to add a list with only a handful of entries.
thevideo.website
has changed domain
It's redirecting to vev.io
.
Deleted off topic comment.
Open another issue here or in uAssets, let's not go off topic.
Sorry about that.
