What do you think of the aesthetic of the game?
It feels very rough so I did not really get a sense of an aesthetic. You can definitely go many ways from here.
What would you change or add to the game?
It would make it more challenging if the player has to restart when hitting the floor. It would make an interesting consequence to the game.
How can I make the game more interesting when the player loses? In my wiki I mentioned adding a timer so the player must collect all cubes before the clock runs out or giving the player 3 tries and on the 3rd try the player dies when falling off the platform. What other ideas come to mind?
I like your idea of adding a timer. I feel as though your idea of having 3 tries would make the game more tedious though. As I said before maybe the player needing to restart the level after falling off could add a loss state. Maybe making the timer as a game mode could add an extra challenge to players.
Did you have any difficulties when playing the game? If so please mention them.
Not necessarily, I found the rotating background to be distracting. I had a hard time knowing where I was going to land when I would jump and I felt like the camera was zoomed in way too much, there were some parts where I didn't know there were platforms to stand on because the camera was hiding them.
How many tries did it take to win the game/how long did you spend playing the game?
I would say I spent about 5 minutes playing. There were many times where I fell off the platforms.
Does the camera follow the player smoothly?
In terms of going left to right in the X-axis I thought it worked great but the camera got in the way of platforms and the view in the Z-axis.
What do you think of the background rotating when the player moves? Is it distracting?
I thought it was quite distracting. It didn't really serve much purpose to the look and gameplay to me.
Did you enjoy the game?
I did! I thought you did great work establishing a goal and creating obstacles to reach that goal. I think it's just a matter of creating a loss state and consequences for the player. Great job!
